Write about something that happened to you that made you feel sad, writing it as though it were a story.
In the media there is a little more talk about the environment and climate change but not very much. The business community has changed its tune but little else. It spends more money on protecting its destructive behaviour (by deceitful advertising, public relations and lobbying) than actually doing something about it. Obviously this deceit is more dangerous than open hostility to environmental action because it gives a false sense of security to the public, which is all too eager to believe that "something is being done".
Another growing threat is the political trend towards conservatism. Although we are apolitical (the environment being a concern of us all), it is only logical that conservatives are the worst possible leaders in times that demand swift and drastic changes. And precisely they are gaining support. Several major countries are in the grip of climate-change deniers, who actively promote environmental destruction.
We are threatened by dangers far worse than any world war, and only a war mentality can save us. We need to set aside our petty differences and narrow self-interests and be prepared to make huge sacrifices for the future of the only planet we have. If we don’t, we are doomed.
We cannot turn a blind eye to the signs of global warming of our earth.
